'Noteable' account verification on Bluesky uses Google Forms.

So, get this. To receive one of these blue check things on #Bluesky you need a Google account and must submit your personal information using a Google Form.

Kinda feel like asking millions of people to send you personal info over Google Forms may not be the most privacy aware or well thought out way to go.

Meine Analyse zur Verordnung VÜPF ist auf ein grosses Echo in der Schweiz gestossen. Sie führte sogar direkt zu einer Petition. @mastodonmigration @AAKL the blue tick on Bluesky is baffling to me, and is another sign of their lack of belief in decentralisation: Bluesky already has best-in-class verification (in that you can make your website url, or any DNS address you control, your handle. IMO that's better than the fediverse's method for verifying a user). But they've given up on that and rolled back to a centralised system.
