You know you should say no more often. You know setting a boundary shouldn’t feel so hard. Yet, you still get stuck in excuses, guilt, and worrying about what others will think.

Do you want to strengthen your boundaries? Don’t forget to follow.
Some people don’t want to change—they just want you to change yourself to fit their world. And you know what? That’s their right, just like it’s your right to decide if you want to change or not. 🩶

Sometimes, it’s not you who needs to change. Sometimes, it’s time to let others sit with their own discomfort when you stand up for yourself.
Groupthink happens when a group values harmony over critical thinking. Ever held back from speaking up in a meeting just to avoid standing out? Or noticed that the team you lead hesitates to share their opinions? That’s groupthink in action—a process where the fear of disrupting the norm leads to poorer decisions.

Psychologist Irving Janis, who coined the term, identified key conditions that make groupthink more likely:

A strong and dominant leader. When the leader’s views set the tone, independent thinking takes a backseat.
Too much cohesion. When maintaining group harmony becomes the priority, disagreement and critical perspectives are seen as threats.
External pressure to decide quickly. Under stress, groups tend to rush decisions rather than carefully weighing pros and cons.
