Edit: cut out "During drills they were perfectly in time" because I don't have receipts to show. Linking to a longer video in a threads post that shows a bit more intense of a juxtaposition between themselves and the division in front of them. This thread makes the same claim about drills, but I also don't see video.

Edit: to clarify a bit, this is one division. The division in front of them in the longer video is in step. This isn't "the whole army is going to refuse" but this may be, "some units are fed up enough to make it clear they don't want to play, which is saying a lot."

Any division that exists needs to be cultivated. The way you cultivate that is absolutely not by lumping them all together. Some of the military voted for Trump, some don't care, some hate him. All of them are being treated like shit right now. All of them swore an oath to defend the constitution. Some of them probably know what that means.

I'm absolutely not a fan of the military, but I will take every opportunity I can to humanize these folks. Look for every opportunity you can to remind them that they are welcome on our side whenever they're ready to actually fulfill their oath, and we will appreciate every subtle bit of resistance they give to those who are violating it in the meantime.

Today hundreds of homophobic anti-trans haters swarmed Seattle's Capital Hill gayborhood on the exact same spot that the Black Lives Memorial Garden (#BLMG) once stood as a symbol against hate.

Last year Seattle Mayor Bruce Harroll razed the garden because it became a site of regular Mutual Aid outreach. The mayor claimed the garden was a disruption to the peace and had it destroyed!

It's standing room only at the security check point. Direct friends and family are being given priority. No one else is being let in.

Some people who made it in but were listening from the hall (which is typically allowed) were escorted out.

Update - No charges have been filed by the Seattle City Attorney yet and they were not ready today.

The city must file charges (or drop the cases) by tomorrow evening.

The judge says they will possibly set bail today or release people on "personal recognizance".

The judge should begin bringing in our comrades in as we speak.

I and many others saw them deny Seattle Gay News entry and literally minutes later wave King 5 and Fox13 right on in without checking any press badges.

It appears the size of the camera and the stature of the reporter is what they are checking.

Update - another two conrades were released without bail but may still be charged. The city attempted to set a $10k bail for one of them but thankfully the judge denied.

So we have four comrades coming home later tonight and we're still waiting on word on up to six.

More mostly good news, we're now at 7 total who will be released without bail. 5 of those will likely still faces charges.

However an 8th person had initial bail set at $100k, it's been reduced to $20k after a ba k and forth between their defense and the judge. (Update, bail is being posted as we toot, will be out tonight or tomorrow)

I believe existing bail funds should be able to handle it but will update as we learn more.

One of the people who was released without bail the city tried really hard to keep them in jail because they allegedly broke a cops finger.

Speaking to people who were on the ground at the time its seems this person was punched in the head by an SPD officer, which is how the cop's finger was broken 🫠

So obviously we think a lot of the people who will be back in court will handily beat the charges.

Ok heading out, for now. Stay tuned for future court support, this is clearly turning into a larger political football with Donald Trump likely taking an interest in Mayor Bruce Harrell's handling of Saturday's right wing rally.

In echo's of Mayor Jenny Durkan, Harrell is obviously no supporter of leftists activitist and is naturally inclined to crack down on local activist. Much like Durkan, I expect Bruce to attempt to crack down on us more than even Trump desires to keep the right wing happy

Also documenting todays court hearing fedi's own @Haste also was there and was able to get into the hearing.

They confirmed the double standards at play, broadcast media happy let through with full broadcasting equipment but small online journalist immediately gate kept and not allowed any electronics at all even just for notes.

So for anyone targeted, it can be a good resource for your defense attorney. If there's a long list of OPA complaints against an arresting cop, especially for lying or fabricating evidence, your lawyer may be able to get prosecution to just drop the case to keep stuff out of public record.

At least we have names. There are people out there (you know who you are!) who can do a lot with just a name.

If cops get the idea that brutalizing protesters means a substantial risk of being doxxed, they may learn not to fuck with us.

Every person a cop has ever arrested or even ticketed is a potential enemy to them, so a doxxed cop normally has to move.

Proceed with caution indeed. Electronic warfare is exactly that: warfare.

This isn't legally tricky. Law is dead in the US and if the cops know who you are after you dox one of them you will be targetted without regard for any law. If per chance doxxing them is legal where you live this will be no protection whatsoever. We KNOW what the Enemy will seek to do, that is right out in the open.

Rather it is militarily tricky: when cops get doxxed and it's gotten away with, that means our electronic warfare specialists went up against their electronic warfare specialists and defeated them. This is an ever-changing field and is a job for experts.

Tor, Tails, and cash-only transactions are the main weapons in such a fight. Just like any other weapons, it's the skill of the user that decides the outcome most of the time.

Note that the electronic battlefield is in fact a battlefield like any other, and there are no guarantees on it. Anything can happen, either side can win on any given day. So it always goes in war.

You may already know, and it's utter bullshit to be asked to "pay to play," for your first amendment rights, but the Freelance Journalists Union (part of the IWW) provides press passes to members in good standing. I doubt these pricks would respect it anyway, but I feel like it's good information to put out there for anyone who isn't aware. The price is fairly reasonable and the IWW is a decent outfit.

@nullagent I had this same problem! They took my devices at the door; I eventually asked the staff to show me the policy where only broadcast networks qualified as “real” journalists. It turns out what they wanted was a formal press pass.

The bailiff was quite patient with me and eventually we were able to reach one “Captain Allan”, not sure on spelling. I explained there is no central credential authority for press passes, and they agreed to let me through next time.
