Today we’re making signing up on Mastodon easier than ever before. We understand that deciding which Mastodon service provider to kick off your experience with can be confusing. We know this is a completely new concept for many people, since traditionally the platform and the service provider are one and the same. This choice is what makes Mastodon different from existing social networks, but it also presents a unique onboarding challenge. I hope the TV and film writers get everything they are asking for. Without them there’d be nothing to watch at all. And kudos for attempting to protect themselves against AI coming for their jobs. I wish graphic artists had similar power.

Work for a news publisher and syndicating content? Heads-up. Google is now recommending to NOT use rel canonical for syndicated content on partners. They say to block indexing... And that conversation will probably NOT go well with syndication partners. via @rustybrick

Techdirt says it's no longer posting to Twitter after a key WordPress plugin dropped features once Twitter began charging for its API.
