OpenBSD mitigated this in 1974

This looks interesting. An IBM XT clone with an e-ink display, 500-hour battery life, and solar charging. Hoping they add a BOM and STL files at some point.

@deater78 I got curious, but I found an article explaining the incident:

Do you do your #banking on a #phone Can you do it with #FreeSoftware? I did some research for the @fsfe and now published my results: https://lists.fsfe.org/pipermail/discussion/2024-February/013383.html Whatโ€™s your experience here?

I wanted to do a desktop scene for one of the my original Mac cross-stitches, but 512x342 is just too many pixels to stitch! So I cut and pasted the original screen down to a more manageable size, but still with some classic bits. Puzzle desk accessory! #NerdStitch 6/10
Another classic Mac #NerdStitch - oh those original bitmap fonts. I decided to update the classic โ€œcross-stitch samplerโ€ motif with the fonts as inspiration. 2/10
A 3D rendering of a F1 car from the intro to Warm Up on Amiga, released in 1991 by Genias Software. This impressive intro for the time was created by graphic artist Alfredo Siragusa painstakingly hand-drawing each frame of the animation in Deluxe Paint. It took him 3 months.

I love the Acorn Archimedes RISC OS, so when I spotted a clock in the style of the operating system - well, what could I do...

Now it hangs on my office wall looking splendid, although I may sacrifice accurate time for a peaceful non-ticking sound life ๐Ÿ™ƒ

@jameswoodcock I made a 3d printed clock for my memories - Space Invaders on the Commodore PET.
@ColinHaynes Fantastic! :) Really nicely done.

@jameswoodcock The files are here if anyone happens to want to print them:

@jameswoodcock RISC OS 3.0 or 3.1?
@mfraz74 Were there any visual differences between the two?
@jameswoodcock I think there were, just can't remember where.
@jameswoodcock Looking into it, 3.1 was released as a bug fix to 3.0 so there are no visual differences.
@mfraz74 ahh good to know, so take your pick then in that case ๐Ÿ˜

@jameswoodcock @lisamelton

Thatโ€™s so very cool! If you donโ€™t want to hear the ticking, I would bet good money that the mechanism or guts of the clock is a generic mechanism that you can buy at almost any craft shop, or Amazon, if thatโ€™s your bag.

The trick will be finding one that doesnโ€™t tick, since it is a commodity item

@bubbajet @lisamelton yeah I'll probably just set the time to something static in the end. Lovely piece to have on the wall regardless as of course retro is timeless! ๐Ÿ•
