In 1959, Volvo invented the three point seat belt and released the patent to it for free, realising it would save millions of lives.
In 2020 (Covid), James Dyson asked for a tax cut before he would even try to build a ventilator to save a life, then moved his business abroad to avoid tax. He didn't deliver a single ventilator.
Don’t buy a Dyson.
Another reason to hate #Apple We're seeing more 2018+ MacBook Pro/Air donations — but Apple's T2 chip means even after iCloud sign-out and reset, the firmware stays locked to the original account.
Without donor contact, these machines are useless. :(
I've upcycled ~1,000 older Macs, but T2 era machines will end that. It's controlling, creates e-waste, and will only get worse. #righttorepair matters — Apple couldn't care less.
IMPORTANT: There appears to be an unofficial mirror on #SourceForge that attempts to be legitimate. THIS IS FAKE.
What's more concerning is the fact that there appears to be an impersonator of @gperson. This is NOT them as they are NOT on SourceForge. The fake project also distributes both the 64-bit version and a fake macOS Universal 2 binary also well. The latter is almost certainly fake; we do not plan on distributing a universal binary (more on that later).
To all the #FreeCAD fans out there.
I am working on a #LaserCutting design and when I export from TechDraw to SVG, the parts are all rendered with fill that I then need to delete lest the laser decide to engrave it.
Is there a way to make that not happen?
I am guessing this is a template thing, but I don't really understand how templates work.
A bit of a longshot, but I'll throw this question out here! Anyone remember what sort of 6502 dev board was used for the Scottish Higher Technological Studies around 1991/2?
I remember it had keypad for entering your code as hex, 7 segment displays and digital inputs/outputs for switches, lights, stepper motors...
I remember there was a reference guide for it (folded sheet of A4) with 6502 op codes etc that could be used in the exam too. I binned school stuff many decades ago but curious to see if anyone out there still has anything from all those decades ago.
