Some quick #Mastodon tips for the #TwitterMigration crew.
1. To DM someone click on the 🌎icon when you bring up the message editor. You also have other options like sending messages to only your followers.
2. Toots = Tweets
3. Boost = Retweet
4. Birdsite = Twitter
5. There is no Quote Toot with comment. This is by design. Mastodon is much less stressful IMO than the birdsite.
For those who are part of the #TwitterMigration, I recommend downloading a copy of all of your data.
Of course that assumes that you haven’t deleted your birdsite account yet.😉
I was today years old when I learned Mastodon uses RoR. Nice!
As an old Rails dev that makes me happy to see. It is also nice to see a docker-container file to make it easy for people to spin up an instance. 😊
