For anyone interested, here is the Mastodon code repository. If you wanted to start your own instance, you'd just follow the instructions there to download it and get it set up on your server.

@conor you've tooted so much good helpful stuff today. Thank you!
@conor definitely thinking of spinning up a server to run a Fighting Game Community instance on... Not sure I want the responsibility of paying for it indefinitely though haha
I mean this is totally useless to me, but I love that it exists.

I was today years old when I learned Mastodon uses RoR. Nice!

As an old Rails dev that makes me happy to see. It is also nice to see a docker-container file to make it easy for people to spin up an instance. 😊

@conor I stumbled across your post and I'm grateful I did. This whole thing is a wee bit daunting! So thanks!

I spotted that you have meta tags in a table (is that right?) on your profile. I saw something about that when I went to edit my profile but really couldn't get my head around it.

And then there's something about linking back to Mastodon on other pages? It would be good to link to Twitter and back!

Woah. Sorry for the random bombardment!

Yours sincerely,

Confused
