Finally got my ADHD diagnosis.
The psychiatrist said it is a wonder I was missed in school because all of my reports spoke of severe ADHD symptoms.
Well. I did finish school unmedicated.
What I did not finish was my bachelor's degree. 10 years in, 2 kids later and I'm done next year. Hopefully with medication from next year on. Just in time to write my thesis.
Thought about starting my bachelor thesis in digital humanities. Then my ADHD hit hard and now I'm waiting for my formal diagnosis (3 weeks to go!) and medication.
Not sure that I can write the thesis without medication 😂
Even though I really enjoy the topic (Social Network of the Harry Potter Fandom on Archive Of Our Own, maybe with some more text work)

My unexplained* mental health crutch: (more or less) the same damn 90 minute playlist 12 hours a day for the last 24 months (well it has gradually morphed over time but a handful of core songs have been there since the start.)
(to be clear, this is not a complaint. just something that doesn't make a lick of sense to neurotypical people.)

Gerade gelernt, dass es bei #neurodovergenten Menschen nicht nur Hypersesnitivtät gibt, sondern auch Hyposensitivität, dh Reize werden weniger stark wahrgenommen.
Nun, dass erklärt zumindest warum ich Durst oft erst wahrnehme, wenn ich so dehydriert bin, dass ich fast umkippen. oops, I guess.
Kind 1 (K1) hat die Diagnose schon, meine steht an und ist laut verschiedenen Fachkräften sehr wahrscheinlich.
Also gehe ich Back to basics und lese Selbsthilfebücher dazu. 😂
Verschiedene klinische Paper, DSM V, ICD 10 und 11 und die Diagnoserichtlinien habe ich schon durch. Hatte einen *minimalen* Hyperfokus. 😅
Natürlich nicht ohne meine flüssige Motivation in Form von 4fach Espresso.
