FINALLY we have Action selectors in Blender's Properties Editor! 🥳

For the first time since the animation system was overhauled in v2.50 can you select which Action animates your Mesh, World, Scene, Material, etc.

And with the Slotted Actions (coming to Blender 4.4) you can even have those share their Action. So you can have one 'CubeAction' with the animation of the Object, Mesh, and its Shape Keys.
