People who don't have the time inclination or skills to apply critical thinking to media are in for a rough ride. Disinfo's going to be turned up to volume 11. Not clear there's any will for routes around.

Ever larger chunks of the population are possibly going to give up on trying for an understanding of current affairs. Which is a result that helps bad actors.

If you are coming from Twitter, you understandably may feel like it is a lot quieter here. Mastodon is not "dead," but there is no #algorithm bombarding you with stuff. Here you develop your own user experience by searching out and following people and things that interest you. You can pretty quickly build a much more satisfying experience, but it takes a little effort. Following #hashtags is a good way to get started. Be patient and join in conversations.

This is the Bullshit Age.

The other core issue with the #FSDBeta program is that validation (which is very different from "QA") is not possible when the Operational Design Domain (ODD) of the automated vehicle is effectively unbounded.

Or, more accurately, Tesla has presented nothing in terms of what would undoubtedly be a revolutionary, ground-breaking safety case that describes such a validation process.

Instead, Tesla clumsily argues that "AI training" is equivalent to validation - which it is not.
