Edit: all set now! Answer is "Do not use FaceTime".
Hey, slightly urgent question re FaceTime and privacy.
Somebody wants to FaceTime with me and has given me their phone number to do so. I have FaceTime on my MacBook which I would be using. If I do this, does it expose the email associated with my Apple ID to the other user? Does it expose the phone number associated with that Apple ID to the other user?
I know that if I originate a meeting in FaceTime on MacOS by creating a meeting link to share, I expose at least the email address of my AppleID to the other party. I know this bc I get a pop-up warning to that effect when I go to connect to that meeting. I don't know if it also gives up my phone number. But I also know the person who uses the link to meet with me does not give up their information to me.
I have no idea how this works with phone numbers. What info would I be exposing to this other party if I used their phone number to connect with them from macOS?
