I have a chat group with my school friends back in #Iran. 15-20 women, more than half are scattered around the world… a handful are still in Iran. Today one of them (who is a school teacher in Tehran) sent a message asking what the international community is doing…. “Can’t they see? How many more need to be executed? We are losing our minds over this violence”
I had no response… should I say: they don’t care? No one cares?
The Dutch invest €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart governments do the right math on investing in better mobility.
Let’s be clear — it wastes public money to NOT do it.
#CityMakingMath, hat tip to @modacitylife for their excellent books!
In regards to reporting to Twitter, once we see the open proliferation of the March 15 livestream on twitter it might be better to ignore the inbuilt reporting function in the app and just go directly to https://help.twitter.com/en/forms/safety-and-sensitive-content/hateful-conduct and make a report there.
That feature while it remains will also allow you to add an explanation, that is not available when directly reporting tweets through the app etc
I used to be one of those people who thought monitoring fascists was something you did for shits and giggles.
Have well and truly learnt now how essential this work is. And it seems like the fash know how essential it is too - given how hard they go after the people doing it.
Anyway, this is mostly to say thank you. To the people doing this work now & the people who have been doing it since forever.

Ahh a first post on a new social media platform. I thought I'd share one of my first and favourite symmetry shots taken at St Paul's London Underground station.
