If the United Nations itself supports LGBTQ+ rights, why can't its member states do the same or even us as individuals? Attitudes take time to change. Policy changes can take even longer. With the United Nations we all shall promote and protect LGBTQ+ rights.

Since its founding in 1945, the UN had not discussed LGBTQ+ rights until 1994 through the resolution of the Toonen v. Australia case by the UN Human Rights Committee declared that laws criminalizing consensual same-sex relations between adults are in violation of international human rights law.
