Whimsy improves most things. (Like the bunny and toy moose in my BG!) Those it does not, deserve their gravity and weight. Two things can be true at the same time. Eyes open to see injustice, heart open too. <3

Weird Computer Contest
A contest to see the strangest computer being used to read mastodon/the fediverse. The prize is a cool drawing from me just for you.

Rules:

1. Post a reply to show your device and why it is strange. Can mean hardware and software. A photo is better.
2. You can't go *too* much out of your way to use some goofy device that you don't ever really use.
3. Winner selected by general consensus.

This is *not* just an excuse to see/post photos of strange computers.

@fishidwardrobe To clarify: I'm working in static media in what I want to do, which I have an easier time with than moving visuals. In case you were wondering what someone with visual issues was doing in Blender. There are many potential reasons. This is mine. hehe
@fishidwardrobe Thank you! I have some visual processing problems, thus my search through text-based resources, but I realize I failed to mention that! I can use videos in some capacities though, so this is good to know. Thank you again :) !
Ugh. I have just gone through my follow list and discovered Exactly how long it's been since I did that. To everyone who followed me at the dawn of time, and just today got followed back, my entire bad. Object Permanence is for those who don't have Better things to remember. *sigh* #AA #AutisticLife also #ADHD and #PTSD and #Dissociative Life.
@futurebird This is not *just* an excuse to see photos of strange computers.
@broadwaybabyto I try to share my story with people for exactly this reason. I was an athlete, martial artist and dancer. I experienced increasing pain during all of this, for years, but never "let it hold me back". I was teaching a dance class during my first major flare-up. Within two years all I could do for exercise was walk. Within a few, I couldn't walk anymore. Trust me - Tough discipline helps 0% if your body is breaking. Self-care can mean stopping Before the damage is permanent.

Anyone can become disabled at any time. It’s one of the few minority groups you can always join.

Even if you do everything “right”. Even if you’re young and healthy. Even if you “try hard”

It’s not a moral failing. It’s a part of life.

If more people would accept that and work with us, we would all be better off.

@seekingfreedom @mattblaze @billd I was going to write something similar about the inherent privilege of Not Knowing how much harm comes to mentally ill people because of this kind of language. Two things can be wrong at the same time, Matt. You can learn While you're educating.
@mattblaze @billd Bill, thank you for politely asking Matt to use different language that doesn’t contribute to mental health stigma. I’m sorry he chose to call you a scold (edit: and block you) rather than to listen. Just wanted to let you know that some of us do hear you. Thanks Bill.
@whereisk Thank you! Yes, I know there are better things for 3D printing overall, but Blender has additional applications I'm interested in, and I'll likely be exploring the others first, as I don't have ready access to a printer yet.
