I'm a Trans, Nonbinary, Disabled, Wheelchair-modded writer living in Pittsburgh, PA, Lanape Territory. I write poetry, plays, short fiction and some wildly speculative essays!

Whimsy improves most things. (Like the bunny and toy moose in my BG!) Those it does not, deserve their gravity and weight. Two things can be true at the same time. Eyes open to see injustice, heart open too. <3

Sweden criminalises payment for sexual services online.

In Sweden, it will be illegal to pay for sexual acts on the internet from the summer. Parliament has extended an existing law and made payment for remote sexual acts a criminal offence.

This affects online platforms such as OnlyFans.

Ok. Time to get off politics & cleanse my timeline onto other things for a while at least. More photos from my walk yesterday where it connected with the Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk. These 3 were my favourites. #RiverWalk #Albury.

I saw someone equate being "nice" to AI with kindness to service workers. "AI" is software. It literally can't think, which is why it just tells you whatever you indicate you'd like to hear.

There is NO comparison between a computer, and a human working for your benefit. Humans have emotions, inherent worth. While maybe screaming invective at ChatGPT isn't healthy, it doesn't make someone a bad person. When we pretend that it does, we feed this mass delusion.

”Assuming an “artificial intelligence” platform knows the difference between true and false is like assuming a pigeon can play basketball. It just ain’t built for it.“

A minor semantic quibble.

In about a month, I'll be looking at buying an #eBike. I'm told fedi has a strong ebike community, so I'd appreciate advice.

  • I'll have a budget of around £600.
  • I'd like to buy second hand.
  • The longest distance I expect to ride is about 12 miles.
  • I need a removable battery.
  • I want to be able to add panniers.

Edit to add: I'm in the UK

Thoughts?

I’m a 50 year old woman, but it doesn’t seem that long ago I was a very pretty teen girl becoming aware of the looks from older men.

Men looked at me until well into my 40’s, until I became invisible to them. I’m so glad I did! This isn’t about that.

Lately I’ve noticed men looking again. I don’t like it and never wanted it. I noticed because we do. Then I realised, they are not looking at me but my 14 year old daughter beside me.

I want to gouge out their eyes.

New word proposition: Botsplain

When you ask a question and instead of genuinely trying to answer or simply admitting "I don't know" someone asks a generative AI and feed you that garbage answer against your consent.

I've been getting roped into more video meetings lately, so I've been doodling, and I've realized that my go-to daydreaming doodle is an endoplasmic reticulum (like those cross-section drawings from childhood biology picture books).

Which brings me to my question: What's your go-to doodle?

I also love to doodle endoplasmic reticula!!

@handmade_ghost I had a couple of favorite doodling patterns that would repeat and grow to cover most of the page. For example, I'd draw a maze of rectangular boxes with gaps in their walls here and there, and then draw a line bouncing off the walls like the old Pong type games, going inside and between the boxes till the spaces were so full of crisscrossing lines there was no room for more. I did this through school, and in many work meetings for years.
