Anyone got a blue sky invite going spare?
@chrisoldwood got any invites going spare?

Nothing says long term decisions like overriding a long term decision made by cross party consensus for perceived short term political gain at a party conference

#ShortTermDecisionsForAShiiterFuture

@rhys reflects rose tinted retrospective views on Corbyn there I suspect.

The tl;dr (because TL! it's TL) is that, for this group:

- people feel stressed and anxious when they get yelled at for breaking rules and norms they didn't know about

- it's hard to find people and conversations, and specifically hard to follow people across instances

- people want better organic and algorithmic ways to connect with each other

- instance-picking stresses people out, and a lot of the sign-up and settling-in processes are confusing and/or too much work for unknown returns

The choice at the next UK general election increasingly seems to be between a Tory party you know is lying to you and a Labour party you hope is lying to you.

OMG THIS

My ability to get folx, who’d normally dismiss me as just another “angry Black woman”, to start paying attention to the harm they’re inflicted at scale is 100% the result of how this platform used to work

I’ve been on others for years and they don’t come close

Ok think I've done threads. Same handle as here, but first impressions are maybe I'll look back in a few months. Pretty basic. No where near as advanced as Mastodon at the moment. No lists, no separate timelines, just the global feed and some kind of algo to show followed accounts with higher priority. Not very impressed tbh.
#threads

@jon @ottocrat yep, threads is going to be the winner, visible from space. Too much ethics around preventing viral threads etc here is what makes it ultimately inadequate as an alternative for people who found pre musk Twitter suited them.

Update: but it's really not very good, so maybe I was too hasty....
