"The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump's murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He had his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being pepper sprayed."

Mastodon Migration (@[email protected])

Really interesting things afoot in social media. It seems like "W", a newly announced "European alternative to X" is actually a fork of the Bluesky code, and is, at least for now, kind of part of the Bluesky AT Proto network. (Thanks to @[email protected] for the explainer.) And, apparently #Bluesky board member @[email protected] really doesn't like the idea. It will be fascinating to see how this develops. https://atprotocol.dev/w-for-atproto/

So this is my new project: A solar powered website:

https://solar.stfn.pl/

The website is hosted on a Raspberry Pi Zero server running from solar panels and batteries, living in a shed in my field. The Internet access is done via an LTE modem.

I had a lot of fun building the whole system and then writing the site in the most basic, pure HTML.

However, even though the site is static HTML, it is presenting live data using my second new project: Pyriodic Backend, written in Python:

@alevsk 3-4x the power, water, storage, and land needed. I will push for AI to shrink.

Steve Wozniak interviewed for CBS:

"I gave all my Apple wealth away because wealth and power are not what I live for. I have a lot of fun and happiness. I funded a lot of important museums and arts groups [...] I never look for any type of tax dodge. I earn money from my labor and pay something like 55% combined tax on it. Life to me was never about accomplishment, but about Happiness. I developed these philosophies when I was 18-20 years old and I never sold out."

@enzet I bet it would be easy python
