@ms I think you should make the switch then! My experience with Godot has been really good. Godot uses its own language (gdscript), but it's very easy to get started with. It's quite similar to Python
@hankruiger oh nice I like dev duck!! I'll have a look. Thanks 😁 and good luck to you as well! Excited to see your progress
@ms thanks!! Yeah I do miss bevy, it was fun. But the only reason I made serious progress was because I switched off of it lol are you using bevy?

@hankruiger 'Nimble' is a good way to put it actually lol That's awesome though! Are you going to be sharing updates on that? I see you were posting stuff about the hex grid game that you had going on.

I do miss Russ and bevy as well. I feel like I was very organized with the file structure. I'm still trying to get used to how to organize my scenes and scripts.

I'm very glad that Godot supports C sharp. The strict type safety was going to be a deal-breaker for me.

@hankruiger I also never realized how much I missed using an editor. It makes life a lot easier. Are you currently creating games? And if so what engine are you using?
@hankruiger One of the biggest pros of switching from bevy to Godot is the compile times. Rust normally takes 5 to 10 seconds to compile simple changes. When I compile my code and Godot, it takes about one second. This has so drastically decreased the amount of time I spend debugging
@hankruiger thanks Han!! Honestly, I wish I would have changed engines much much earlier. Bevy was fun, but I don't think it's viable yet for making commercial games. Godot took some getting used to, but it was pretty easy. I honestly started laughing several different times because of how easy it was to implement things in Godot that would have taken me hours to do in bevy.
A lot of the icons are only temporary FYI

Laying down some more ground work for the UI. The infantry/vehicles/upgrades options are locked until you build the required structures. 🔒🔓

Im just loving the look of these generators against the dark & rainy contrast. Check out the little floating embers 🔥
