The methanol poisoning in Laos is heartbreaking. I've seen this issue a few times. But I wish the media gave as much coverage to the dangers of motorcycles without (and with) helmets in Asia. #laos

Pōhara in Golden Bay/ Mohua does a good line in sunsets. There are reflections to capture in the extensive sand flats at low tide (📷1), and silhouettes to be made of NZ beachfront icons: cabbage tree/ tī kōuka/ Cordyline australis (📷2); flax/ harakeke/ Phormium tenax (📷3); & native toe toe—but wait, could it be similar but invasive pampas grass/ Cortaderia selloana (📷4)?

Out with the old and in with the new. Thailand’s recent relaxation on Cannabis laws have resulted in a sudden surge in weed shops appearing. A bit of a gamble as the law is still of controversial subject and may be reversed. Can they really put the genie back in the bottle?
