(2/2) We did a short walk around the area, learned a little, and saw a couple of animals. But the park had different hiking paths to go on and I would have liked to get to see more animals and more of the island. Unfortunately the logistics of a boat trip from Labuan Bajo don’t really work with that
(1/2) We finally got to see the Komodo dragons on Rinca Island, which was the last stop on our boat trip. Honestly it let me down a little. The dragons were obviously cool but we were probably only there for around an hour.

It’s named such because the sand has a pink hue to it. It wasn’t bright pink or anything but it was noticeable. We stopped there for a little bit for beach photos and swimming

So after Le Pirate Island we went back to Labuan Bajo for a couple days and on the first day we took a boat trip. The boat’s first stop was Padar Island which is between Komodo Island and Rinca Island. It’s a popular stop for tours because the bays make for a striking view after hiking to the top

It’s where the ground drops off and the water gets deep. I spent a lot of time just floating there, looking out into the endless blue, hoping to see something. And also hoping not to see anything

Unfortunately every photo I got from the side was bad. They were either blurry or I only got half the fish. The only decent photos I got were from the back and of those this was the best. Le Pirate Island is a small island and there isn’t a ton to do, which is by design. The whole point is to relax. So we spent the days lounging around and snorkeling. It was one of the best places we’ve been for snorkeling off the beach so obviously I took a lot of photos. I’m not a great photographer and worse underwater so a lot of those photos aren’t good but some aren’t bad
