When I think about climate change, sometimes I think of the people whose job is to play it down and distract us.

There's that classic quote from a tobacco advertising dude in 1969, "Doubt is our product". Similar work, different topic.

It's a weird thought that people hire for that kind of creativity and other people get paid for it, even though they all live on the same earth as we do.

Often when I'm pottering round the house or walking down the street, a little tune will come into my head, and sometimes I record those onto my phone or pocket dictation machine.

One day last year, I was sorting through those recordings and listening back to them, and I thought "this is a good one!"
