Hace mil años y cuatro noches que el tiempo dio la razón a quienes decían que Melanie C era la Spice que mejor cantaba. Es más, resultó ser la única con visión pop para estar en el candelabro.

Sweat es una mezcla de muchas cosas que funcionan. Suena a todo y por eso suena cercana, y hoy día gusta -demasiado- lo ya conocido.

Yo me voy en primer lugar al video de aerobic (adoro a las señoras que dicen aerobíc) que Dua hizo para Physical. Después, a Kylie, siempre a Kylie, a la de Sexercise, pero modo bratz, chunga, pachanguera, británica.

Mezcla no es amalgama.

En los créditos aparece gente tan dispar como nuestro Theo Hutchcraft (bastante demandado como autor) y, ¡alucina, vecina!, Diana Ross. No es gratuito: la parte más pegajosa, ese entremuslo chorreante, de la canción pertenece a la diva sampleada.

La Spice deportista cambia chándal por mallas porque ha hecho lo propio con el deporte y el gimnasio puro y duro. Spice mazada. He ahí el comienzo iniciando sesión de entrenamiento con sus gafas de científico loco de peli ochentera imaginando el 2030.

Aquí es la Ross la que canta, Mel manda y ejecuta, pedirle cantar es dejarla sin resuello. Ella no sacrifica un entrenamiento por cantar habiéndolo hecho antes la Ross.

¿Cómo se arrejunta todo esto? Con una base de las que te hacen la canción más el dichoso sample, que le insufla la vida entera. Amén del prepuente tan chulo con sus ¡Three! (el puente a mí no me gusta).

Y con proteínas y chulazos. Suponemos que Mel entiende que esto es un Instant gay anthem (exagerado) como dice un comentario de Youtube. Y un I can see this in all the cycle classes como dice otro. Porque las bis y las maris de gimnasio le van a alabar sus músculos y a preguntarle sus trucos, las heteras ni se van a enterar de que Sweat existe. Ellas se lo pierden.
