So few cis people seem to appreciate just how hard it is to obtain puberty blockers and hormones because conversations about "regret" frequently rely on the built-in assumption it's quick and easy and kids especially are being "rushed" through the process without adequate safeguards, which is untrue, but it's exactly the idea being planted in people's heads by these anti-trans moral panic "just asking questions" concern troll articles in mainstream media.

I am 37. One of my partners is in their forties, and so is their other partner. None of us are cis, and we are all the truest versions of ourselves we have ever been, we are *powerful*.

I know 'it gets better' is hokey, but there's room for it if you hold on. Society fetishizing youth ignores that the best parts of our lives usually don't happen then. Mine didn't!

I didn't recognize a lot of my #dysphoria until I alleviated it... But once I had the framing, I could look back on elementary school and see it everywhere.

Pronouns are so hard, because they are so dependent on other people either reading you correctly or being good at pronoun respect in a way many communities never manage.

Like, I can choose my clothes and hair and hormones (presuming provider support), but neopronouns feel like too big of an ask even in many trans spaces.

The advice I have gotten is that it should be enough info for the person to know why you are choosing to share it... Start with the most important bit, then a bit more detail, so folks who are enjoying it can keep reading and folks who get bored can skip.
