I've lived in mid-Wales for 15 years - I'm from England originally. I'm a part time #PhD student at Aberystwyth studying national identity in Wales. I'm also a part time remedial massage therapist - I'm very geeky about both things.

I'm learning Welsh (slowly). I climb mountains (slowly) and run (slowly). I do everything else a bit too fast #ADHD

There may be pictures of my #dog.

Today is the 1st day of the Mari advent! Today's postcard is based on the Stella Maris and was requested by @sheepnik who kindly donated to the Refuge charity who help victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
My plain jumper embroidered revamp in Breton style in progress. I am using chain stitch as it has a bit of stretch to it and it was used in the traditionally designs. You can see the red and yellow curving waves pattern on the right side of original Breton costume in the 2nd photo. #embroidery #Christmasjumper #jumper #breton #brittany #upcycle #christmas #needlework #costume

I’m deeply sorry everyone, I tried to hold back for as long as I could, but it’s begun.

I’ve started making an unnecessary number of stars. Every year it gets a little earlier, so be grateful it’s actually Winter.

I haven’t gone so far as to actually start Christmas shopping yet, I’m glad to say, but it’s only a matter of time.

As I suddenly have so many new followers (hello!) *waves to @davidallengreen* I should probably do an #introduction. I am an anti-racist, trans-inclusive, cat-owning historian in Sheffield, and I have my first trade-book coming out in January. So you can expect to hear a lot about #Indigenous histories, rage at the world, kittens, and a new hashtag #OnSavageShores (the name of my book!): https://geni.us/OnSavageShores

Hêlo!

An #introduction. I'm still working out how this all works...

I've lived in mid-Wales for 15 years. Alongside my job, I'm a part time PhD student, studying national #identity in Wales.

I also spend time: learning Welsh, climbing mountains, making things with string (#knitting #crochet), #photography, listening to #music and #politics podcasts, growing things and then eating some of them, and trying to teach a small cocker spaniel how to be vaguely civilised.
