Happy post-holiday, Coffee Pod!
What was meant to be a quiet week turned into a worky week (grrr) but I kept off social almost entirely, as per plan. It helps me recalibrate and refocus, and this year it helped me finalize the leaving of the birdsite.

Whew. Snapped that habit. One more bit of work to finish tomorrow and then taking off until the 3rd. LOVELY!

I hope you had a peaceful week, and the turn of the new year brings more peace and joy to your world.

I think there are even more folks who love bad puns here than on the Bad Place. This is the Good Place.

Sometimes I go hours without drinking coffee. It's called sleeping.

Good morning, Coffee Pod. Kid came home and brought COVID as well, dammit. He felt crappy last week and went to the campus clinic- they said he was COVID negative and had a “bad cold”. Got home Saturday, lost his sense of taste Sunday so we tested again and boom. Instant positive. Christmas plans on hold atm due to fragile older relatives. This is a reminder to wear a mask and take precautions- or enjoy yet another COVID themed holiday. 😔

@Salcam pour over is solid; if you can afford it look into the Gaby Pour Over. Reduces brewing issues as the device does most of the work.

Also do not forget a good grinder, that is imperative to brewing right. As for coffee the internet is key, but it really depends on what your flavor preferences are. Good companies near you from me are Greater Goods, Novel Coffee Roasters, and Xela Coffee Roasters.

@Salcam
I think there are self-refillable Nespresso pods available, which would let you stick with your current brewing method without breaking the bank.
If you really want to save money on beans, you might consider home roasting. You can buy very high quality beans for less and then roast them exactly as you like. The batches are small, so they'll always be fresh. I get my beans (and got my roaster) from Sweet Maria's (https://www.sweetmarias.com/).
