welp - it was finally time to tag a release (or two!):

https://docs.rs/ingredients/0.1.1

it's a #Rust crate (with optional CLI and Python bindings) for checking contents of published Rust crates against the project's version control system - inspired by the "xz-utils" debacle (among other things).

and of course I missed updating the README before tagging 0.1.0, so ... that's why it's 0.1.1.

next step is integrating this functionality into the Rust packaging tooling for #Fedora.

#CECOT #60Minutes #CBS

Bari Weiss built her brand on being β€œcancelled” from the NYT. She now runs a media company, appears on every major podcast, and speaks at sold-out events. If this is cancellation, I would like to be cancelled. Please cancel me. I am once again asking to be cancelled.
By pulling a 60 Minutes segment, the new editor is torching the network's credibility to protect the Ellison family's interests. https://theintercept.com/2025/12/22/bari-weiss-is-doing-exactly-what-she-was-installed-at-cbs-to-do
Bari Weiss Is Doing Exactly What She Was Installed at CBS to Do

Cutting one 60 Minutes segment is a small price to be paid to keep Trump happy and shape the future of American media.

Hey folks - after seven months of chasing, I've run out of options in trying to resolve a customer service issue with #BritishAirways, and I've decided to really escalate it. Does anyone out there know #SeanDoyle, CEO of BA, and if so, could you make an introduction? Thank you!
CBS under Bari Weiss is bowing to Trump.

Protect your kids!

This holiday season, remember that no relative is owed physical affection from your child. No relative is owed a visit.

A handshake, wave, or "hello" is a perfectly polite greeting. Yes, even grandma.

Yes, you can demand COVID, flu, and RSV tests before anyone is in a room with small children. If someone hasn't been on antibiotics for strep long enough, they need to stay at home.

Yes, you can absolutely demand that no one kisses an infant on the face, putting them at risk of a deadly infection.

No masking during travel? No time with tiny human.

No vaccines, no time with tiny human.

Aggressive dog in the house? No visit with tiny human.

Someone doesn't believe in food allergies? No visit with tiny human.

Someone says "it's just allergies" when they are clearly contagious, and you get sick a week after you hang out, consistently? No visit with tiny human.

If anyone has a problem with you prioritising your family's health over their boundary stomping, that's what low contact and no contact are for.

Signed,
a grumpy childfree person who has had this discussion too many damned times because what are they gonna do, kick me out of the playgroup? The Mommy and Me group has no power here.

Apropos of nothing in particular, I've been thinking about my visit some years back to the Dutch Resistance Museum β€” Verzetsmuseum β€” in Amsterdam. The museum re-creates scenes of daily life under Nazi occupation and continually asks visitors to think about what we would do in a given situation: "adjust, collaborate, or resist?"

For every American, this is the exact same question we are now facing every single day.

Adjust, collaborate, or resist. What does that look like for you? At what cost to your safety will you resist? At what cost to your sense of self-worth and morality will you simply adjust and pretend nothing is happening? What is your personal "red line"?

I hope my niece likes them #knitting
