I am taking part in a #Charity #fundraising event today. I've been 'arrested' for being too much fun in the classroom teaching #law to #undergraduates 😄

We are fundraising for Home Start, a wonderful charity providing support for #Suffolk families.

Please donate to my 'bail' fund if you can!

Another "completely fake cases dreamed up by ChatGPT" judgment from the First-tier Tribunal (Tax Chamber).

This is a trend that will continue, alas.

Today has provided a useful example of the difference between #Mastodon and #X.

It seems many of the people over there are forgetful that #defamation law does apply to social media from the look of the Trending tab and my feed.

While on here, #Caturday is trending and my feed is full of useful research (for example, anyone interested in #AI should read the article posted on @timnitGebru profile on AI art and its impact on artists)!

@timnitGebru

This is a fascinating piece of research, thanks for sharing! I think the folk at @law would also be interested in your conclusions.

The reception by artists of our "AI Art and Its Impact on Aritsts" paper is the best validation ever. It was added to the create don't scrape website & Arte es Ética is translating the paper in Spanish. Thank you! I hope it helps artists safeguard their rights.

Please read if you're interested in understanding how the whole AI Art thing is impacting working artists. It was a collaboration between artists, computer scientists, legal scholars, philosophers & sociologists.

#Introduction

Hello World. I'm Leigh and I am here to share my nerdiness and creativity with the world. Looking forward to joining in with all this tooting good fun!

@richard I will do! Although I'm not sure there is a 'right' answer, I will definitely summarise at the end. This is fascinating.

Another slow hand clap for the UK Gov, this time for failing to understand that:

A. Anyone distributing illegal content on the interwebs will proxy-up and carry on regardless of the Online Safety Bill.

B. Everyone else will lose a basic right to privacy.

C. It might be a moot point because if Apple, Signal, WhatsApp and co pull out of the UK, everyone including the UK Gov will no longer have any messaging platform available anyway.
