All about decentralising tech.

Also I support minorities rights to live life in peace.

Why did I buy Lego Star Wars #TheCompleteSaga on the original ds handhelds (not 3ds) in 2026.

With how expensive games are getting this game meets alot of modern gaming standards be it completely offline.

It has a #hubworld with other characters randomly navigating and you can battle or walk pass✓
You can collect an offline game currency while playing✓
The game *and the system (particularly the ds lite model) are crazy affordable. I got a dslite system for 44$ used in a physical store. ✓
Local multiplayer on two ds handhelds.✓

You can usually find ds games for around 3 to 10$ compared to #Nintendo #Switch these are low prices.

Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga ds is one of those games pushing the ds spec limits, praised by fans and technical gamers alike for what they managed to pull off with this original ds title. Which was making it as console like as possible on the go.

Lego Star wars basically feels like it has an offline #Splatoon formula. With the hub, ai walking characters. It works for me.

Every time an #altright #conspiracy #theorist tells you to "change their mind" try to educate them on what #confirmationbias is.

If they don't seem interested in listening about that then you will know with concrete evidence that the person isn't just happening to be posting alt right content potentially unknowingly of the harm 100%, but it's by design on their part if they deny having a confirmation bias.

#Decentralize your step tacking app. With a device that tracks your steps.

Get this physical device: (any variant)

In order to share next to zero health unwillingly with tech companies,

also most of these pedometers i internet reliant, likely meaning it'l work for years without you having to pay anything for that in the future for all its packed in features.

You can restore balance in tech.

Instead of buying a $400 to $500 or even $899 #PS5: (yes that 899 one exists now.)

Why not just: go back a couple systems and get either an older #psp (original) or a #PS3 or #PS2? You can still play some sweet game titles at a lower price. Don't let these companies force you into $500 dolar price tags! And then on top of that charge you for online subscriptions just to play online. It's getting rediculous.

You can shift the balance of tech devices.

#Decentralize your #camera app?

Get a portable #digitalcamera, disable the camera app all together:

To avoid risk of #ageverification just to take pictures.

And to take #pictures at the moment because you feel something is cool again, without feeling like you're doing it just for social media cred.
Because you can't (usually) auto upload it to #socialmedia from a simple Camara makes you prioritise the actual experience more.

And so you aren't reliant on just one device for everything.

You can easily get a #portable #1080p camera for less then 100$ compared to #monopolistic modern #smartphones and PCs/laptops this price is unheard of for basic specs. Today basic specs would be at least 1080p. At the lowest.

Getting a separate camera might seem small or redundant but when you diversify your tech apps into separate devices, You can shift the balance of tech devices.

Why #decentralizing your #tech is important today. More then it ever was before.

When you are reliant on one device to do everything you will pay more to just one company for the #phone or #pc Many pay up to $500 to $1000 just to get a modern smartphone.

If you get other devices that are dedicated to specific tasks, you won't have to age verify yourself just to unlock all the functions of an offline device.

#Playstation has recently added #ageverification to play your games online. (on #psn ) or message your friends.

Some u.s states tried making it that no one under 18 could even download a basic calculator app without verifying your age and also being 18 years of age. (or with parental consent) luckily a court put that on hold. (state such as Texas)

Getting a #retro offline #console or tech #device frees you from that before it spreads. It gives you more legal rights now then current #appstore landscape, and less uncertainty.

#decentrlize your clock.

get a digital alarm clock and/or a watch. You won't have to wake up your phone just to check the time or set an alarm.

Might seem reduntent or small, but the more apps you decentralize into tech the more tech freedom you get from big #Google or #Apple.

You can shift the balance of tech devices.

#decentralize #tech

Instead of the $400 Nintendo #Switch2 I went and got an older unsupported (by Nintendo) $40 ish #Nintendo #DS Lite.

#nintendods #dslite

Was it worth it? As long that it has a touch screen and can do some type of 3D gaming I think it does it for me at a budget in 2026.

DS lite doesn't officially play games online anymore which is great for me, no monthly fees.

However, original DS titles shipped with the complete game on the cartridges.

The two types of ds game i'm looking for on the DS.

Full fledged games, like Lego Star Wars the complete saga. (to get a modern console like experience on a budget handheld device. Surprisingly works well.

Then there are, mini game based games. Why? if I can have it set to play mini games in a random rotating order, this takes my attention away from social media.

I actually spend less time on social media thanks to games like #Sonic and #Mario at the #Olympic games.

#Decentralize your #calculator app. By getting a dumb physical calculator, never use your #Smartphone again specially just to calculate your numbers. Plus you can say I'm not using my smartphone just to use a calculator.

While #decentralizing a calculator seems small, and redundant things start to add up when you start decentralisd your basic apps with other offline tech. You can shift the balance of tech devices.
