@LALegault I can agree with most of that. But it talks about ending Hamas' control of Gaza. What if they held an election, and Hamas won again? Would they accept that result?

Will there come a point where a war by outside powers to liberate Gaza from Israel becomes acceptable?

Been saying this for awhile, but will repeat it for emphasis: If you love freedom but don’t care if it applies to everyone, what you actually love is privilege.
BREAKING: President Zelenskyy has offered to negotiate a peace deal between Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
“I know Trump well. I know Musk well. I would get that war ended in a period of 24 hours. One hundred per cent, it would be easy. That deal would be easy.”

Words matter. The Israeli military did not “intercept a ship and escort it to safety.” The Israeli military did commit a violent act of piracy against a UK flagged vessel in international waters as it fulfilled a legal right to reach Gaza and alleviate suffering, then abducted its crew and transported them by force to Israel under threat of execution.

Not a single corporate media outlet has had the courage or integrity to correctly label this horrific injustice. Legacy media has failed us all.

@martinvermeer @chu i mean, highly doubt bombing the shit out of gaza is good for the environment, especially considering people are part of "the environment"

I wish I had half the media savviness and foresight as Greta Thunberg. She knows exactly what she is doing. She predicted what would happen to her and the rest of her team. She knew she was putting her body and life on the line. She was betting on this. She used the attention she got from her climate activism to bring attention to other causes. She was the perfect person for Western media to elevate. She was white, a girl, mostly harmless. Embodied the kind of passive activism that corporate media wanted to celebrate. Giving the opposition a voice without any real ability or threat.

Now she has taken the platform they have given her and made herself a threat. She is supporting causes that directly impact the imperial way of life and she is doing so in ways that are less passive. They only wish they could take away all the media they have already given her and fame they heaped onto her when she was a harmless teenager.

Be prepared for stories to come out to that questions her integrity as a person. They will sling mud, and cause us to question her as a person, her values... they will find ways to alienate her from our hearts because that is the most powerful weapon they have against her.

Don't fall for it.

@collapse2050 Interesting how concerns change. But he was certainly right about one thing - the incredible rate of change of the world we live in. "Conservatives" want to "conserve" the world of their parents, but all the time from the beginning of the industrial revolution until now is just a tiny blip in the history of the world. How it is "conservative" to dig up all the fossil carbon that has accumulated over half a billion years and burn it in the air we all breathe is beyond me.
@btschumy @collapse2050 I'm not a big fan of carbon capture and storage. I think it would be better not to generate the CO2 in the first place. But it does seem to me that CCS is better than nothing, and it may be politically doable in some cases where more effective action is just not politically possible.
Fox keeps proving there’s still more stupidity to come.
