6m is LIT here in Europe. I made contacts on SSB and CW all over Europe with 50W on a dipole.
The QSB is super fast. From 57 to absolute zero in few seconds. Two of my SSB contacts ended like that.
Quite a colorful Space Weather Enthusiasts Dashboard - haven't seen this kind of view yet.
It will take few weeks from ionosphere to recover from this :D
And there we have it: finally dumped Windows for good on the radio desk.
Yes, I've removed Windows OS from the 10 year-old laptop and it's Linux Mint only running on there.
Unlike Windows, I have no difficulty adjusting volumes for digimodes and all the usual software works from simple package downloads, out the box. And there are no enforced updates or AI.
As the HF propagation is so crappy, I went to search for old radiosondes. Found one, which had been on the ground for year. It was quite degraded, birds must have borrowed the styrofoam.
To my surprising the PCB was 100% intact, like a new one. Not a single dot of corrosion. Balloon how ever was turned into this paper like very brittle material.

First time I saw circumzenithal arc ("upside down rainbow") - and this at QTH (you can see my ZS6BKW also on the photo).
