As the HF propagation is so crappy, I went to search for old radiosondes. Found one, which had been on the ground for year. It was quite degraded, birds must have borrowed the styrofoam.
To my surprising the PCB was 100% intact, like a new one. Not a single dot of corrosion. Balloon how ever was turned into this paper like very brittle material.

I’m envious! We have such an acting sonde hunting community here that they’re almost all snatched up within hours or days.
@Geojoek Here in Tampere currently sondes are on ground for minutes maximum. There are few really fast hunters around too.
I went for looking two today which were launched year ago and they were pretty deep in the forest, so it might caused these to have left without a search.
