Make every transistor on the GPU light up... I paid for all of them, thus they surely need to work for me :) #OpenGL #Vulkan #CMS #CubicalMarchingSquares #visualization
Found some time again to work a bit more on my GPU-based implementation of 'Cubical Marching Squares' (CMS). The rendering isn't done yet, but I can cleanly extract multiple iso-surfaces in realtime from a 20-million cells (hermite) dataset... #gfx #GLSL #OpenGL #Vulkan
Although I am not a professional #blender-user (or use it in any way to generate income from using it) every now and then I drop a small donation towards the @Blender development fund. It is just a lot of fun to have a sophisticated tool like #blender available at any time - free of charge - to allow me to enjoy my love and fascination for computer-graphics... be it prep'ing 3D-meshes for coding or just experimenting with lighting- or shading-concepts in general. It is a marvelous sandbox!

2025... finally arrived ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ˜
Starting tomorrow... four days of grand geek-bliss at @revisionparty 2025 ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ‘
This time around I wanted to see how convincing I can make injection molded plastics look. This is the result. The headlight model I got from Sketchfab (https://lnkd.in/evAniEjR) It was quite a bit of manual work in @Blender before I could properly use it in my real-time viewer.

Slow weekend... not much motivation to code... played a bit with my 3D-perlin-noise and made it non-homogeneous... looks like rash now ๐Ÿ˜œ #demoScene #rendering #perlin #noise
Not sure how well this comes across in this screencast, but I added kinetic behavior to the orbit-camera. This gives the impression of weight and inertia when moving the object around... so satisfying to fling around the V8-engine-block now :)
This is an attempt to create a metal/steel-like material... and in order to add a bit more appeal on top, I also tried to mimic a not yet fully polished 'function surface/coating'. The model is a low-poly mesh from Sketchfab https://lnkd.in/e2xCdwJh Yes, the mesh is a bit odd... the wall-thickness between the cylinders is too thin to make sense in the real world... and it is missing coolant passages. #vtk #shader #pbr #rendering

More messing around with vtk 9.4.0... this time order-independent transparency and iso-surface extraction... #OpenGL #vtk #dataViz
