So what is absolute madness about this policy from Twitter (which I'm sure the chief twit crafted himself) is that (a) I assume the point is to keep people from leaving Twitter and going to other platforms instead; and (b) I'm guessing that for many people, like me, this will be the final straw that causes them to officially leave Twitter.

Hello Mastodon! I'm Brian Klaas - an associate professor of global politics at University College London, a writer for The Atlantic, and host of the Power Corrupts podcast.

Elon Musk's team is seeking new investors for Twitter | Semafor

The managing director of Elon Musk’s family office reached out to potential investors this week.

We who are rather new to Mastodon feel a bit like this calf, that I drew awhile back, eager to learn and explore and joyful and happy to be here.
Thanks for all who work to make Mastodon possible.
Thanks to all you moderators and those who handle technical details
Thanks to all you tooters and boosters.
Now, the other thing I loved was following accounts of farmers and agricultural extensionists from all over the world. Is there a #AgricultureMastodon? A #GlobalFarming Mastodon? A #SustainableAgriculture community of sorts? Ideally global in reach.

My advice, if you're new here, is to post. I'm still working on it myself.

The late stages of Twitter rewarded us for posting less frequently and for posting the worst kind of takes when we did.

There's no algorithm here to feed, so post what you're interested in and what you're curious about. Share the things that you care about and you'll find your communities here quickly enough.

One point I do want to make clear: Twitter is Elon Musk's website. He paid all that money and can ban whoever he wants. It's his right, just like it's our right to point out when he's spreading bad information and contradicting himself.
