That the new administration is opposed to "DEI" (and is quick to use it as a scapegoat for just about everything bad) is unsurprising and was expected, but the aggressiveness of today's anti-DEI purge is still jarring and disturbing. They are creating an atmosphere in which any attempt to hire, promote, or engage with anyone other than a white male will be regarded as inherently suspect.
The damage - to both individuals and to our institutions - will likely be both swift and long lasting.
The CDC, FDA, and NIH are prohibited from sharing information about food recalls, drug approvals, evolving public health threats (like national disasters and the current bird flu outbreak), etc. without White House approval.

Among many problems with Trump's citizenship executive order (such as its obvious conflict with the constitution) is a practical one: birth certificates, which are currently the primary proof of citizenship for those born in the US, are issued by state and local authorities. These agencies do not (and aren't equipped to) determine or record the immigration status of the parents.
This means that citizenship would no longer be established with a US birth certificate or any other primary document.
Zukerberg, Musk, Thiel, Andreessen, and all the others are proper rich. Fuck-off rich. Nation-state rich. Bond villain rich.
They can do anything they like. Live detached from everyone else if they want, nothing in the real world needs to affect them at all.
And they choose to spend their days publishing chatbots and posting angrily about which bathroom the tampons are in.
You can't respect loser stink like that. They're little babies, toddlers seeking attention, making the worst choices. Fuck 'em.
