My interests are CW, contesting (including multi-op with my XYL and kids), POTA, ragchewing, 2m simplex, and giving the ARRL a hard time.

I live near Trenton, SC, which is 20 miles north of Augusta, GA.

Hobbies are reading, cooking with cast iron, lifting weights, hiking, and minimalist camping.

I hate politics with a passion and the herd mentality (both left and right) that comes with it.

The 1980s were the best decade. Fight me.

@abraxas3d I’m reading the book you’re always talking about; Bowling Alone.

1) my abhorrence of TV is reinforced. Although I imagine if written in today’s on demand/binge watching world, the correlation with social disengagement would be exponentially worse. Would love to see social media’s impact on social disengagement as well.

2) shocking that for all the talk of “damn millennials,” the pandemic of social disengagement began with the Boomers.

Let's all do everything we possibly can to make sure the league's proposed bi-law 46 changes do not go in to effect so that leadership gets a stranglehold over the board. We need more transparency, modernizing and change to meet our current ham population where it is now and to include and welcome new groups of hams who will envigorate #AmateurRadio for the future. #ARRL #HamRadio

I just participated in my first K1USN Slow Speed Test [contest] to try and build up my CW skill. I'm good at POTA exchanges and not so much for anything else.

This is simple for those of you who like QRS. Details are here http://k1usn.com/sst.html

I'll do this again

Are there any useful guides out there to #ARRL radiograms? The ones I have seen were sufficiently obscure as to be unhelpful.

Thinking out loud, about sending a 'gram to members of the ARRL board about their latest terrible decision making - see this from @kb6nu https://www.kb6nu.com/the-arrl-board-is-at-it-again/

Radiograms may be the correct medium.

I don't see a numbered radiogram for political disagreements though.

The ARRL Board is at it again!

The RATPAC devoted its Jan 4, session to discussion of upcoming ARRL board motions and to hear both sides of the arguments concerning the proposed Bylaw 46 change in particular (Code of Conduct, etc.)
