Leaving aside any #ARRL dysfunction, the #USPS has also been dysfunctional for several years so they may have changed what goes in what boxes. How *do* you count paid copies that never actually get printed & sent by mail?

I think that would explain the wild gyrations, but I suspect that if you were good at stats, the "true" slope of the line is still sharply downward.

Compare the Amateur Radio Software Award (nominations open) with the ARRL’s student coding contest. The former is for recognizing existing “software projects that enhance and adhere to the spirit of amateur radio: innovative, free and open” vs unpaid student labor for iOS apps that become property of the ARRL.

After my first year as a ham, I let my #ARRL membership lapse to see how they would entice me into returning. This definitely isn’t enticement lol.

Further, it shows they don’t understand how to retain potentially sour members who might prefer, say, a discounted or free print QST subscription with real knowledge value VS a branded doodad you probably don’t want.
