On the other end of the scale, He Fucked the Girl Out of Me by https://mastodon.social/@taylormccue was a jarring and touching game. It recounts the author's deeply personal experiences and effects of her being pressured into engaging in sex work, and how it halted her process of transitioning for several years.

(the TV used for displaying the game in the US became quite famous as it was a roadside find that fans of the game transported to the expo. Not this TV tho!)

After Marika's Ph.D defence and subsequent party (congrats!) I took a quick trip over the bridge to #Copenhagen. I visited the feel shops of Faraos Cigarer but the real highlight was going to #cphdox and their Interactive exhibit with #VR, #AR and game artworks.

The game WE ARE HERE BECAUSE OF THOSE THAT ARE NOT by https://instagram.com/ladydangfua was a highlight, providing a trip into an utopian digital world where the needs of #trans people (of color) are (for once) met.

On my way to #Malmö for my friend and long-time collaborator Marika Hedemyr's Ph.D dissertation defence https://mau.se/en/calendar/disputation--marika-hedemyr/

It centers around three of our collaborative works, the mixed reality walks Next to You at Korsvägen, ENTER Mölndal Kvarnbyn and ENTER Mölndal Tulebosjön. #AR #MR

Tricky getting your laundry dry when there's a #Kubernetes tutorial vid hovering over the dryer controls!

Today I built a #RaspberryPi #PicoW powered coffee timer for our coffee brewer at work. Shows when coffee was last brewed!

First version needed a manual button press; second detects when the outer temperature of the brewer rises to know when fresh coffee is being made!

So cool! (Felt like testing Re: Toot, might delete later…)

Meeting the early morning sun after finally getting the lab network working again, having spent more than a day battling failed #Ubiquiti #Unifi firmware updates and bugs in their terrible new management UI 😩

I was very close to having to redo the whole setup from zero due to a corrupt configuration state.

#HAM radio operators around the world tune in to hear "the old lady” sing a few times a year. It was originally built to be part of a "World Wide Wireless" network, though that never really came to pass as technology advanced. Used for naval comms until the late 90s tho!

I enjoyed the #visualization:s comparing the pervasiveness of global communications now vs then, and the collaborative start-up minigame was neat. The #AR seemed a bit superfluous tho, as it only showed static text and images.

Back in 2015 I made an #AR installation for the world heritage #rockcarving site in #Tanumshede, so I found it very interesting to see similar tech used to teach visitors about the workings of the #Grimeton #VLF #Radio Station.

It's a world heritage site on account of being the last operational long range mechanical radio transmitter, its design pre-dating vacuum tubes! It transmits #morsecode using a big spinning alternator wheel to generate a 17.2kHz signal which can reach New York and beyond
