12,000-Year-Old Rock Carvings Discovered Beneath Waters of Atatürk Dam in Türkiye
Archaeologists and museum officials in Adıyaman, southeastern Türkiye, have captured underwater images of rock carvings estimated to be 12,000 years old. The carvings, located on the main rock formation along the shores of the Atatürk Dam in Kahta district, belong to the Epipaleolithic Period and depict stylized hunting scenes featuring both humans and animals.
'A second female sexual figuration has been found in a cramped cavity shelter in a quartzitic sandstone megaclast at Courdimanche, some 10 km from that recently described in the La Ségognole 3 shelter at Noisy-sur-Ecole'

New Face on the Block
People have been vandalising the rocks around here over 300 years, some of the inscriptions are in Latin, but I'm pretty sure this guy wasn't there on my previous visit.
This is Granite which I picked up off the side of my dirt road. It's 3 inches wide and 3.5 long by 2 high (7.6 x 9 x 5 cm). It fits nicely in my palm and is perfect for a Civil Disobedience rally of your choice. Kidding, no violence please. Rocks are for looking at (and carving) not throwing! Carved with a Dremel 4300

Welp...This was an experiment of sorts and I worked on it far too long and should have put it in the discard pile and moved on to something else. But here it is. It's 5.5 x 3.5 x 1.75 inches (14 x 9 x4.5 centimeters). I just don't feel comfortable with the design or the execution but at least I learned something which is always a plus. Sedimentary stone of some type I think.
