I have tried to like oatmeal. But it never excites me. I want to have a couple bowls a week, at least, so I decided to go savoury.
I treated it like polenta or grits — I added milk with water. But first I toasted my steel cut oats in a teaspoon of butter until fragrant. Other garnishes, a small tomato, salsa verde, 1/2 avocado, 2 poached eggs, and 2 strips of bacon. #breakfast #food #cooking
