I love voting in Australia. No id required, everyone votes. Early voting booths open a few weeks prior to the actual election ... so whilst there are queues, they are minimised. We have voting booths all over the place. Often the voting booths are at community organisations or schools. They take the opportunity to do some fundraising (selling sausages in bread, etc). Is it weird to be proud of how our democracy works?

Contradictory to #Dutton's attempt to politicise everything, this is the statement on the Victorian RSL website:

RSL Victoria and the ANZAC Commemoration Council are saddened and disappointed at the actions of a tiny minority during the Welcome to Country at today’s Dawn Service and express sincere apologies to Uncle Mark Brown and the Bunurong people.

Dr Robert Webster – President RSL Victoria has said “The actions of a handful were completely disrespectful to the Aboriginal community, veterans, and the spirit of ANZAC Day. In response, the spontaneous applause from the 50,000-strong crowd attending the service drowned out those who disrupted and showed the respect befitting of the occasion.”
