Does anything actually happen on this platform?

Yes, you can use general all-season tires on an EV or hybrid, but those tires do have more rolling resistance and do deliver less range. Similarly, a worn tire vs the same but new will deliver greater range because the worn tire has less rolling resistance. And EV-specific tires also have a sound dampening foam layer to reduce road noise and more robust sidewalls to handle the cornering forces of the heavier vehicle.

Right tool for the job. You can use cheap oil or synthetic, and pay later.

@werefreeatlast a stretch but not misinformation. I read the article. You left out that it says EVs and ICE vehicles both produce tire particulates, but EVs are heavier and accelerate quicker and both contribute to more wear. That’s true. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/evs-are-sending-toxic-tire-particles-into-the-water-soil-and-air/ar-AA1e4KqI

Two stereo systems. My original Adcom GFA-500 amplifier and GTP-500 pre-amplifier, Infinity RS-7 speakers, and Sony CDP-207EDS CD player circa 1989-ish. And modern Yamaha R-S202 receiver with vintage Cerwin-Vega D3 speakers I found for $100 and a Panasonic DVD-F61 five-disc DVD/CD player that’s 20 years old. Both sound terrific, but the 30-plus-year-old Adcom/Infinity set clearly sounds better. More expansive sound, better bass, and superior highs thanks to the legendary Infinity EMIT tweeters.
