In my #bullshit finding expedition today at lunch time I find that #theatlantic has a nice steaming pile of it right here for us. #ev's are polluting with their tires! Wow! Surprising 😱 and shocking at so many levels until you realize that EVs use the same #tires that #ICE #cars use. I took bought in the idea that my #Prius needed special tires from early adopter bullshit. I got cheap all weather tires on it and getting 70 #MPG. Get real Atlantic! Stop spreading missinformation in #headlines!

Yes, you can use general all-season tires on an EV or hybrid, but those tires do have more rolling resistance and do deliver less range. Similarly, a worn tire vs the same but new will deliver greater range because the worn tire has less rolling resistance. And EV-specific tires also have a sound dampening foam layer to reduce road noise and more robust sidewalls to handle the cornering forces of the heavier vehicle.

Right tool for the job. You can use cheap oil or synthetic, and pay later.
