Researchers reporting in ACS’ Environmental Science & Technology Letters have modeled the reactions initiated by UVC sanitizing light and find that there’s a trade-off between removing viruses and producing air pollutants.

@Rhodium103 Normally the mulled wine extraction is done in a batch (non-refluxing) reactor... but you're proposing to do essentially a pour-over extraction, probably ends up with low yield. Might instead want to use french press... or a sequential batch extractor - like the food version of Soxhlet.

Here's a question I've been meaning to post on the bird site, but I'll put to my fellow nerds here instead:

I've been doing "this" *waves around at current and former students, finished and unfinished papers, failed proposals and successful grants, etc* for 20+ years now, and with age comes the question of keeping my skills up to date.

One big change over my career has been the (welcome) surge of open source, community driven software tools (R, Python, Julia, ...). 1/n
