New heltec v3 case & holster are siiiick!

That neon green screams #cyberpunk, the purple reminds me of the joker, and an unstoppable mesh network oozes #cypherpunk

It's also very functional. The holster really locks the device in place. There's no risk of it falling out just by moving around.

I don't think I could have possibly done any better with this.

This is what #decentralization looks like.

Three #solar powered #meshtastic nodes and four more in the works. As long as one of them is up, it'll relay encrypted messages for people.

A little soldering, a little 3D printing and about $250 in parts to build one. Now that the CAD work has been done, each one only takes about 2 hours to put together. (not counting print time)

Parts list and instructions are coming soon.

#meshtastic users/developers:

1. How often does an OTA uodate render a node non-functional?
2. What can we do to improve reliability?

Oh man, this new case design is 🔥

I still need to adjust the tolerances of the sealing lip, but it's already very nice.

TIL: Dr Mario only goes up to level 24. When you beat that, it just takes you to level 24 again. #nes #retro #gaming #nintendo

I'm too much of a hippie to even recycle this case that has a blemish on it. It will now be the case for my personal #Signet so it doesn't go to waste.

Fortunately, the next print came out just fine.

OK, after countless hours and months of waiting for parts to arrive, I finally have a decent prototype!

Everything fits nicely. The mounting holes line up with the PCBs. The wires are messy, but that is just because it's a prototype.

Next up: many hours of testing and trying to get the current sensor reporting what the solar panels are generating.

OK, the angle wasn't sharp enough on my first attempt, so I re-did it. I also added the screw hole in the bolt so I don't have to drill any plastic.

I have a specific plan on how to use these and if it works, it's going to be glorious! Stay tuned.

The bolt is going to get screwed to the ceiling (or wall) and then the tentacle can be reaching out of the ceiling (or wall) with no visible attachment points. It can also be more load bearing than if it was just taped to the ceiling/wall.
