CryogenicNighthawkThe bolt is going to get screwed to the ceiling (or wall) and then the tentacle can be reaching out of the ceiling (or wall) with no visible attachment points. It can also be more load bearing than if it was just taped to the ceiling/wall.
I should have mentioned that the tentacle design came from ClayRade.
