Hi, and thanks for checking out my bio ✌️

Wife, rescue dog mom x 2, Japanese music enthusiast, word search puzzle lover.

I have so many chronic illnesses that I lost count 🤷🏻‍♀️. Genetic, autoimmune, hormonal… and the always popular “functional pain syndrome” (in like 4 different body areas). 🙄.

Mostly I just scroll online since my hands are apparently inhabited by evil pain trolls 🧌

✌️😷✌️

I want this label maker so bad 😍. I have no NEED for another #labelmaker, but thankfully that never stopped me from buying cute #officesupplies anyway 😅

WooHoo… big plans tonight! We’re having pizza and renting #JohnWick4. I can’t wait!! 🥳

Sadly, I’m also remembering that the last movie I saw in a theatre was actually #JohnWick2. Man, I’ve been sick a heck of a long time 😓. #ChronicIllness

How strange it is
to hear so much talk
of Threads
in this moment when we
are unraveling.

Quick reminder:

How someone treats you tells you a lot more about the kind of person they are, than the kind of person you are.

When a friend, a real friend
not some rude stranger
or antagonistic coworker
asked me why
I’m still wearing a mask
a barbed comeback
seemed an inappropriate reply
but eventually I said,
that it feels like there’s
so little that I can do
so I might as well
do what little I can.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but..

“You are not naïve because you didn't see the ways they were going to hurt you. You are a trusting person who believes in good, & can't fathom doing to others what they did to you.
Your empathy & compassion were not the problem. Their behavior was. Accept this truth & carry on.”

Moving from the bird site to other social media is a privilege. Many vulnerable people, especially those who are homebound, rely on the bird site for support and socialising. Despite its many flaws and issues, the bird site allowed many communities to come together in the same place. When disbanded, different communities will go to different social media and for many vulnerable people this will mean the loss of important resources.
The blog below explains this well.

What Disabled People Are Losing With The Slow Death Of Twitter

Once again: the ‘death of twitter’ jokes are fun but the disability community is filled with dread. Twitter fills a specific niche for so many of us which makes it the place we organise…

Wow, this is the liveliest I’ve seen Mastodon since I joined (during the last mass exodus from the bird site) 😂 . I like it 👍

I never really got into posting much here, but I’m going to start doing that more hopefully.

Hope to meet more of you!
