I stepped away from the news this weekend and found joy.
1) It was the first time this year it has been warm enough for me to wear shorts in Chicago 🩳
2) My kids were with me for the weekend and I took my younger daughter kite flying, which was so much fun 🪁
3) Saw a rainbow next to our rainbow kite 🌈

I was born and raised in #Boston. I was raised with the stereotypical Boston accent. The letter R did not exist in my world.

My Mom sent me to school to erase that accent because she thought it could be career limiting for me. It worked; for most of my adult life people who heard me speak didn’t realize I was from Boston.

Years later & all of a sudden, my accent is back. I’m not mad about it but I’m confusing the heck out of the people around me and cracking myself up.

My neighbors have a pre-teen girl. What they don’t know is the absolute, pure joy that young lady provides us. She drives around the cranberry bogs in an electric golf cart with her friends. They play music and sing at the top of their lungs for hours all summer long.

I can’t remember being that young and carefree but it brings me joy just to hear them singing and giggling on a warm summer night.
