Three years ago, I drove an €30 million investment into #Arduino. I learned a lot, especially on #OpenHardware, #OpenSource & money... And on people.

Today marks a special before / after moment for the community. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to witness this journey.

Hi @themagpi , don't call me an idiot 🀭. Maybe the stupidest idea I ever had. What's better than one #arduino Alvik? Right, two Alvik robots πŸ€–. Looks like a ugly cyber truck with mecanum wheels and a #raspberrypi 3 Model A+ on top. #MagPiMonday #maker #micropython

Mastodon isn't perfect.

But the fact a social network exists that is completely free to use

has no venture capital investors

has no shareholders to answer to

has no growth targets

with a web interface with zero tracking cookies

and mobile apps with zero trackers at all

with ten thousand server administrators who donate their time for user safety

is - in my opinion - mindbogglingly cool, given the state of the world we live in. Not everything has to be shit. People make things better.

I'm really proud to present my fully documented source code for Elite on the Commodore 64.

This is the original 1985 source, recently released by Ian Bell, with every single line of code explained.

It’s a thing of beauty. Enjoy!

I think I found a serverless data center that developers use to create serverless apps πŸ˜‚πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸ’» I knew it. 😏
