@hybridhavoc I think Wayward children is typically billed as 'young adult' fiction though that's never bothered me.
For Okorafor I'd start with Binti, it's a novella, first in a series of novellas and I think it gives you a good feel for her work.
@hybridhavoc Oh man, tough question. I tend to read mostly SFF so I find myself rec'ing Kingkiller Chronicles or Black Prism series often. Love Murderbot (shout out to @marthawells ) and Wayward Children. If you're willing to lean romance Jacqueline Carey is a fave. If we can get into graphic novels I'd put Saga into the hands of anyone who will read it. Lately I've really been enjoying Nnedi Okorafor's stuff, very cool afro-futurism.
